I have an extended warranty for my 2004 545i. The BMW dealer and the extended warranty company agree that my transmssion needs to be replaced. The dealer claims that the transmission must be a new BMW transmission because the Valve Body is VIN specific. The extended warranty shop claims that the 2004 545i Valve Body is not VIN specific and a rebuit transmisson can be used. Extended Warranty shop wants BMW evidence that the 2004 545i Valve Body is VIN specific. Anyone have any idea if the 2004 545i Valve Body is VIN specific??? Thanks
