Cool , thanks...

Where you get your car? EU < USA?
USA, this is my second E60. Both have been trouble free and I plan on replacing my current BMW with another when the lease expires in October 2010...

Dear "OP" Did you have a good local service center namely a BMW Service center to go to and help with concerned items? My 2 cents! Trying to help here.

Like other german cars I've owned, I love driving it, hate owning it. Definitely going back to the Japanese brands when I'm done with this car. The dealer experience is an absolute joke compared to Lexus.

Someone previously commented on Japanese cars having paint that could be "licked off." Are we sure he's not talking about the black that BMW uses? WATER can etch that paint.

Licked off?!?! LOL-

That's funny.

But seriously, I've always heard Lexus was the benchmark, when it comes to painting cars.

When it comes to black though, I don't know who's black is better- BMW, MB, or Lexus. You can see yourself in all of them.

Acura's Nighthawk Black was very good too.

Does it make sense to have a good mechanic and or Service Person too! Yesssssss it does! Just this summer I had a scratch... i didn't say that and the dealer body shop repaired it for free. Thats a good Sevice dept. But well my fingers are still crossed. From the sounds of it; the 5 Has a good track record!

I know bimmers can have problems here in there, but what car doesnt?
if you wanted a ride thats focused on low maintenance then you shoulda bought a toyota
with that in mind, i would still definitely pick up another BMW
next time its gonna be either an M3 or M5 or better

Would you please to make me clear on what Gearbox you are talking about? AT or MT ?

Thanks
Hi
It?s an AT gearbox, it comes up with transmission fault every time i go down a steep hill, if i go in DS and change gear man. nothing wrong, last time they had the car for 14 days, then told me to change the gearbox, i asked why, they could not tell me, i have BMW Germany involved as well, not much help at all, if you have to change the gearbox after 60.000 KM you should at least be told why. Cost is 8.800US $, and they won?t tell me why i have to change, BTW i have now been driving the car for 14 days in man, every time i go downhill with no problems, so you can see why i don?t want to pay for a new box
