Why are there so many E60's in Cali?

There are not many 5ers out here either. Since I got my car (July 08) I have seen 1 other 545i sport, 1 535i sport and 2 550i sport. I see a few 525is, 528is and 530is maybe once a week. Other than that its pretty dead, out here everyone likes trucks
Oh, yeah! Everyone here LOVES their trucks....

I haven't seen your car around.
I would have noticed 166's rolling by me, too.

There are lots of factors:
-They're also probably cheaper in Cali than in Ill due to so many more car dealers out there and the competition. Do a search on carsdirect.com and punch in a Socal zip like 90047 and compare it with an Ill zip.
-People in Socal spend ALOT of time in traffic, which probably explains why there's an "apparent" higher popularity of the roomier 5's vs 3's.
-Most people in Socal can't afford a home, so they get the nicest car they can afford...hell, you can't take the $ with you when you die, so why not enjoy it?
-Higher cost of living in Socal = higher average wages BUT, fortunately, cost of living doesn't have as much effect on car prices (like they do on real estate prices) so the price of a 5 pretty much the same all across the country.
-Most people in Socal are materialistic and shallow. It's the center of the Hollywood universe...how could you expect that disease not to spread to the local inhabitants??? LOL
