What happens if you have a wife that points out the pretty blondes for you?!
You tell her to pick one out and you take her home too!

My two cents on this whole thing... The common BMW owner may fit very nicely into the degrading tone that the masses have bestowed upon us, but there are very few people on this board that have not modified their car and place an element of differentiation between the stock BMW and the modified BMW. People who own modified BMW's (or stock M5's IMHO) care more about the performance, looks, and sexiness of this car than their stock counterparts. It truly is a hobby applied to a car of passion & performance.

Generally speaking, a modified car takes on a whole new character than a stock BMW, and in my opinion, draws a different impression by the masses. Affluent people look at a (nicely) modified car as a hobby and personal passion. The young buck, draws envy and inspiration, and hope of owning a BMW someday. And, yes there will still be those people that hate us when we our horses are impatient and we pass in the smallest margin of space!

I tried to counter the assholeishness of owning a BMW by bringing my DD 214 down to the DMV and getting an "operation Iraqi Freedom" License plate that the FL DMV offers for people who served in a combat zone in the military. I thought that my patriotism would trump the fact that I am a bit of an asshole and drive a bimmer but then i cut of some poor liberal in a prius today and started thinking that he hates me double...

They now offer an '"operation Iraqi Freedom" license plate' in FL, I didn't get that option when I was in Desert Storm (the original - ODS)...? Wow, how things have changed...and actually that's good news.

However, I did get a "Kuwaiti Liberation Medal" directly from Kuwait after the 'Storm' was over... perhaps I should glue it to my license plate.. :-))

ooh, lets start a thread where we all go in and just make fun of other cars, but like really sarcastically, and act all douchebaggy about our cars and then have someone go to another car forum, like a civic forum and post the link and be like "look at these assholes over in a bmw forum"

than we can laugh at everyone making fun of us and our seemingly real posts. that will keep me busy at work tonight...

no no, i didnt take it as disrespectful. yeah, there is no desert storm plates. most states dont even have campaign plates, just purple heart/silver star/bronze star

funny thing is, they give us two medals for the war now. i got a global war on terrorism medal and an Iraqi Campaign Medal, plus the national defense service medal is back in.... so thats 3 for the current wars. If you went to iraq twice and it was early enough, you can wear the global war on terrorism, global war on terrorism expeditionary, iraqi campaign medal, and of course the NDSM. the NDSM and GWOT you get just for being in the military, dont have to go anywhere for it. plus you are pretty much a shoe in for a commendation or achievement medal if you go over there. meritorious service, bronze star, depending on rank... the military clothing and sales (where you buy the medals you are awarded) is like a candy store now.

I hear ya and you're right about the Clothing and Sale store! Does the USAF still subsidise your clothing allownance so that you can buy your uniforms from that monoploy (C&S store)?

But, this subject has no bearing on this thread.. so, let's leave it at that, for the rest of the members.

Anway, I, as an American, Thank You for your service to this great country!!!

yeah, I was in the Army. They give you like 500 a year in your paycheck. most soldiers use it for beer...

anwyay, No takers on my "thread for the haters" we will title it like "I dont like anyone on the road not in a BMW" than we all come in with sarcastic made up stories about how this car sucks, and that car sucks, and how great BMWs are and how important we are, then leak it on another site???
