Mine is due 2 weeks this coming Thursday........only time will tell if this is to be the case! As I understand it BMW UK are launching both the facelifted 5 and the 3 Convertible on Saturday the 24th - couple of the delaers I have spoken with have suggested they will be handing over facelifted cars on that date as well as having a pretty large launch event........
It's strange--in the US, BWWUSA.com won't let you configure an LCI 5 (still have previous model), and the 3 convertible is gone.

I just got word from my dealer that my 550i is built and is in the final assembly quality check stage. I keep bugging my dealer to give me the printed status. I attached what they are able to see on their inhouse computers. Could you please give me the hot line number you mentioned, I am sure you will not look bad once I start calling. I live in Hawaii so its aboout 6 weeks to get here as it has to go to California first and then to Hawaii.
CWG, I think someone beat me to answering your question, but it's 800.831.1117. The thing is that once it's complete and gets on a ship, BMW NA won't be able to help track your car as well as your dealer will. So, it's time to start making calls to your dealer instead.

Hey that's a sweet combo (white/black). Our cars will look kinda alike, as I ordered a alpine/black 528i with the ZSP and am having the aero put on at the port. I think it's such a great combo for that car. I never thought I'd want a white car, and then I saw one on the road with a zsp and that was it for me--I was blown away. Of course your wheels will kick some serious ass and that engine won't hurt either (along with all your other goodies)! Good luck with it.

Thanks for the number - the automatic service said the vehicle production is complete and the car is waiting to go to the shipper. The dealer pulled the same info from their interal web site and the sheet they sent me says the car is in code 190 status which is "Dispatched from AG". Looks like its on its way to the port. The Dealer told me it is two weeks once the car hits the Oxnard CA, vehicle processing center, before it is expected in Hawaii.

When I ordered the card in late February they said it was scheduled for production the last week of March. So the March 4th build date was a great suprise. The dealer told me that they really try to push through the production on the sold vehicles. I am thinking mid April for delivery now, which is a lot better than Mid May. But now that its built, I really want them to FED EX it to me overnight.

bmw093--Hope you enjoy your new car too! Alpine White is just the right shade--not "off-white" at all, but not "Xerox paper" white either. Did you get the Anthracite Bamboo too?

CWG--Glad it was helpful. Best of luck on staying sane in the meantime. The wait is killer.

The wait is excruciating! I've got until the first week of April.

Trying to find a reason to wriggle out of those client meetings?

550-- I didn't pull the trigger on the anthracite bamboo because I wanted to see it first, and had a tough time finding pix. I see the pix now in the brochure, and it looks great--enjoy it! Make sure to post pix when it's in. Hmmm, I think I'll call and check status production again.....
