Exactly, thank you. Thats what you 550 guys have; especially the Cognitive Dissonance.
I commend you Alex123, from standing out from the "me too" crowd and stating it like it is.
PS-Giants man myself.

My wife has a 335xi and I have a 550. Nearly identical acceleration times, very different motors. The turbo engine puts up quick stats by launching hard off the line, the V8 launches hard but then in the mid range to top end opens its lungs and out thrusts the turbo. For an enthusiast the 550 is compelling, but perhaps the best all round 5er is a 535xi stick (IMHO).

There is definitely a market for both the 8 and tt6 for the next 1 year. Then the 2010 twin turbo 8 comes out in 2009 and people won't be making comparisons with the 6 cylinder anymore...

DRP

Unless of course, BMW puts THREE Turbos on the I6

You are really hung up on the 550i, I think you should have bought one and saved yourself the agony.

I love all e60's! Beautiful lines and one of the best handling sedans ever!! I enjoy every minute that i'm driving it and....make excuses to get out of the house to drive more.

The fact is, if I would have bought the 535i then I know I would not have had any complaints at all or even any BMW for that matter. However, I am so happy I made the decision on the 550i and do love driving it every minute I can.

I don't get it? Are you pointing to yours? The 555i is coming in 1-2 years with V8 TT and 535i will stay the same for a while (maybe better air intake or SW to get to 330HP or so).
You read way too much into the " " I posted. There was nothing to get. I was laughing at the link to "buyers remorse" not pointing at anything or anyone. Pointing is rude.

Kudos to alex123 for having a sense of humor about this debate. Some seem to be lacking this key ingredient.
