Careful - like most modern designs, the BMW front suspension has 'Negative Steering Roll Radius'. Among other things, this geometry improves straight line stability and helps stabilize the vehicle under braking in situations where the grip for both wheels is different. Normally, a car tends to pivot around the wheel with the higher friction level. With negative steering roll radius, this pivoting torque is cancelled out and the car stabilizes itself.

By going from 20mm to 15mm offset this radius is reduced by 5mm which will have an impact on above mentioned self stabilizing effect. Ever wondered why BMW offers various offsets for the rear wheels but always sticks to the standard 20mm for the various front wheels they offer?

Of course, if it is just about looks, please forget everything above.
Oh, indeed. Personally I'd always stick to the correct offsets as you're fiddling with something that's been fettled by experts... I learnt the hard way many years back when the handling was ruined by putting on wheels that had an additional 14mm of offset! Looked great but cornering was negatively affected.

Yeah, go for non-run flats since RFTs won't fit on those wheels anyway.
Indeed, they're sure to be missing the EH2 hump!

Here's a great link: Tyre Bible
