What about the nav screen... when your car is turned off and click the "screen off" function, it doesn't completely turn off.... theres still a glow... its pretty annoying, is there anyway of turning it completely off without having to take the key out? I have limo tints all around and this glow kills the point of those tints
After last sw update (2 weeks ago) i think that glow is no longer present. At least is much better than it was.

The e60 is so near pefect I hate to even mention this... but I wish it had more than just one trip odometer.
I think it does if you go to the trip computer in iDrive.

I like everything about my E60. RFT, i-Drive, Cupholders, Active Steering, Sat-Nav, Bluetooth, Vehicle Diagnostics Computer, High Speed Stability, PDC Display, The headlight integrated orange LED "eye brows", Interior Space, Exterior and Interior Design and most of all I love the way it drives and the power and sound of the engine. Here in Austraia, we have alot of old and locally made cars that I think most of us E60 owners would find difficult to live with compared to an E60 and I think I am very lucky to experience one of these cars while I can. But maybe also, my positive experience of my E60 ownership has far outweighed the negatives (if any) to an extent that they are totally secluded.

My Ride: 2007 530xiT, 1964 MBZ 220SEb Coupe, 1986 MBZ 300E and a 1997 Jeep Cherokee as my cottage car. Previous rides started with a 1947 Studebaker Commander convertible and included numerous Fords, VWs, MBZs, Saabs and, for added measure, a '61 Buick Special Wagon and Pontiac GTO.

I've learned to live with many of the annoyances, both large and small, expressed here- well, maybe not the need to respond to the "scout's pledge" question that comes up on the screen every time I turn I insert the key. However, I've yet to figure why BMW NA tells me that my 2007 530xiT is different from those sold outside of America and, therefore, should not be used to tow a trailer. (If anyone out there can tell who can install wiring to go along with the tow bar I've already installed to accommodate my bike carrier, I'd appreciate it).

Current trailer towing cars:
1986 MBZ 300E
1964 MBZ 220SEb
1996 Jeep Cherokee
Previous trailer towing cars:
1999 & 2003 Saab 95s
1987 VW Golf
Various VW Rabbits & MBZs
And a bunch of American cars going back
to my first car, a 1947 Studebaker Commander Convertible

1. No oil temp gauge
2. No dipstick
3. Would like it if the steering wheel tilted down more
4. Door seals. Nuff said.

Love the car - best I've ever owned. You can have it when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

The cupholders don't bother me, but since I'm an American I would like it if they'd add a place for me to put my cheeseburger and chili cheese fries.

My Ride: BMW 520D SE - 177bhp, Black Fusion Leather, Style 244 Wheels, Automatic, Jet Black, Black High Gloss Interior, Sports Steering Wheel, Lumbar Support - Delivery Date 21st March!
Default

what I hate about my e60 is the fact that I have to wait a whole 48 hours for it to be delivered!!!

It will be my 1st coming out of a Audi A3 2.0T S Line.

Not my first BMW though as had a 1 series when that first came out a few years ago.....

Think it will be a big change! also being my first auto (as fed up with stop start UK motorways as do a lot of driving with work - so company car). Tax laws in the UK means I will have an e60 auto with options and still be ?40 per month better off compared with my current A3 - For those in the US that is nearly $80 (if you are struggling with the currency!!!

I really enjoy my car and can't say there is anything I would consider "stupid" about it....

The o/s mirrors could be a bit larger, but you get used to their size.

I really like the start/stop button and with CA, find it very useful. Prefer it to a key.

Cold temp chime is loud, but not a big issue either.

It's a GREAT car, no problems.
I put my phone infront of the idrive screen. Never moves or slides because of the material used. Lots of space there perfect for your cell phone and easy to grab when it rings, if you are not using blue tooth.

Yeah but we determined it is not really safe although funny because when you stomp the gas hard the phone flies back and smacks one of the back passengers

It's even funnier with a gerbil.
