Well, I'm not posting the VIN or registration card but my car, built in 7/07 is defintely an '08 model and I defintely had been test drving the '08 550i for several months prior to purchasing it.

There are in the UK. Didn't they phase out those in the US and replace them with the 528i when the LCI came out.

Just found this which helps to read the vin. Doesnt work with my car though as european models use "O" instead of a model year as the tenth digit.
