What happened to the cell phone symbol?

My Ride: 11 550i Sophisto Gray/Oyster Black/Anthracite, Sprt Trns, DHP, IAS, SP, PP1, PP2, CWP, HUD, DAP, AVSP, SF RS, CA, ACC - Euro Del
After upgrading the car's software, the cell phone symbol would appear on the bottom of the I-Drive screen. Now it is gone. Also the triangle next to the cell phone signal strength meter is gone today. It was there yesterday. Why do the symbols appear? Why do they vanish?

I see the phone icon only when I have missed calls, checking missed calls icon disappears.

i have t-mobile and i have the triangle every time i start the car with my phone in my pocket 
. and i only have the phone icon when i missed a call. it'll disappeared after you check your missed calls in the idrive. btw, i have 16.2.
