Rudy, I would have expected that your assumption is correct, but my garage opening function with those buttons is painfully slow, or more like 'delayed'. It seems that it doesn't just need power from the car being 'on', because if I turn the car on and immediately press the button, my garage door doesn't move. Only after waiting some time, then pressing that button for a while does the garage door activate.
Maybe ????? it could have something to do with the car's computers???? Maybe?

does anyone know and can tell me what they do? the manual doesn't say anything and i didn't find anything on it in a search of this forum.
the manual shows a mirro without the three buttons and a knob you can twist under the mirror, but my mirror has a red alarm light that can't be twisted and three buttons to the left of it.
