i've always wondered if the M5 steering wheel would fit my '08 535 LCI with paddle shifters? they're both round aibags.
it *should*, but since mine is stick I don't know for sure. Search for the guy that does the paddle retrofits, he might know for sure. I'm not sure if the M Sport is available with the paddle shifters, you might have to go up to the //M wheel.

Thanks guys for all your help!!! I love the ///M5 Red and Blue stitch and the finer leather, but like a lot of members here have already said, not sure if it is worth the extra 400.00!! I agree with you, and I will prob. go with the ///M sport wheel, unless I win the lottery, and have a ton of money to throw away to BMW NA! I am going to go back to my dealer and take a closer look at both the e60 ///M5 and the e60 ///M sport steering wheel and call up Garry for his price!! Then purchase one of them.

Hey MacFly:

I have two pics of the M steering wheel:

1) The E60 ///M5 Steering wheel (Top Pic, Blue & Red seam stitch and Black Leather)

2) The E60 "M" sport steering wheel (Bottom Pic, NO Blue, Red seam stitch and dark Gray Leather)

Hope this helps some to id two of them apart.

both of those take the same airbag, only difference is the top one is missing all of the buttons whereas the bottom one has them attached.

the //m5 wheel has to be available with paddle shifters. the m-sport, not sure. I don't have the paddles, so I don't know if the assembly is permanently attached to the wheel or if you can swap it from one wheel to another. check on realoem or bmwfans. they're listed as separate items from the steering wheels, so it leads me to think you can take them off your old wheel and put them on the new one provided the new one has the correct holes for them.
