voice commands

Now have my 530i for one week. I dont have the navigation because I never used it in my 2000 740iL. However voice command does work with motorola v551 bluetooth enabled phone. My question is this: Does the voice command onl work for the communication part of the iDrive? The owners manual is not that clear.
