I was looking at the voice command list and tried some of the command on my 530i (Auto, Phone, Premium and Cold Weather Package) but only the phone commands seems to work.

Should I be able to use the additional voice commands or is the other commands only available with the NAV Package?

 

You normally need the CCC computer (not the standard non nav MASK)

 

I do have NAV but I use the voice commands in entertainment and climate as well.

 

Did you have a US build? As unless someone wants to correct me you couldn't even order voice recog without nav in the US.

 

I have a US build and I did not have Voice until my phone installed and the TCU replaced last week.

Does the fact that I have voice command for the phone now mean that they updated my system to CCC computer?

 

For the US, non-phone voice command only comes with Nav. As we know, there is only one Nav in the US, which is Nav Pro to our European cousins.

I don't have the nav. on a US car. I have the phone but voice only seems to work to dial a number I say. For example, voice will not call a number from my phone book if I say the name. I get "the phone book is empty". My question, should I be able to get calls to numbers in my phone book by saying the name? Is anyone else able to bring up numbers by saying the names? If so, what do you say? Thanks, I really enjoy this forums. You all seem to be very helpful and interested in resolving peoples questions.

Hi,

The E60 voice phone book stores up to 50 entries and is independent from your mobile phone.
Just press the button on the steering whell and say "help" for a list of available voice commands.

 

I wanted to thank all of the helpful people on the forum. With your help I was able to get the "voice" to make calls by name. I didn't realize that the phone book on my phone was independent for the "voice" phone book. Now it works like a charm. I love this car. Many thanks and I appreciate all your help.
