Turn off nav screen?

Ok, look. Call me lazy, call me stupid, whatever you want. I TRIED to look through all 400 pages of the owner's manual, and didn't see it listed. I have an 04 545. I didn't even know you COULD turn off the nav screen, but then I saw a post in the complaints thread about how when you do, the screen still "glows"? Who cares! That's gotts be better than looking at that screen lighting up the interior like daylight.. LOL
Can anyone pleeeeeeeeeease tell me how to turn it off? Pleeeeeeeease?

My Ride: 2004 545i, 6-speed Manual, Silver Grey Metallic, Grey Dakota Leather, Cold Weather Pkg, Premium Sound Pkg, Sport Pkg, Lumbar Support
Just press the iDrive controller Down twice. The first press highlights the "Turn Display Off" option, and the second press selects it.
