Default Turbo removal e60 535i

So here is my million dollar question. Has anyone removed their turbos without dropping the subframe? I have the dreaded wastegate rattle. I am able to fix the wastegates if I can get them off. I don’t want to remove the subframe I don’t feel like it’s something i would want to do in my garage and $5,400 dollars to replace the turbos it’s not an option. I saw someone do it but I can’t find it is a write up. I am having a check engine light come on once I get on boost the dreaded 30ff code low boost. Had it checked and that’s what it is. Once I shit the car off and restart the light goes away and doesn’t come on unless I get on it. Any ideas on how to fix these without paying more than what I paid for the car.

Removing the subframe shouldn't be all that big a deal in my opinion. If you're already contemplating removing turbos yourself it is only a few more bolts to take out the subframe (plus an engine support bar). I took the turbos out on my 535xi in August and removed the subframe and mine is a fair bit more complicated than the RWD. Once the subframe is out you have so much room to work with as well. I have some photos here from this post, but again, it's for XDrive.
