I was with a very tall 6'6" friend if mine who has an E60 also - and he has a hard time 'pulling' the trunk closed because of his arm angle when grabbing the slots inside. I have no problem at all (5'8"). My pulling is down - maybe that could explain some of the differences of opinion in this subject...

That black thing locking the lid hurt my head a few times when I stood up after bending down to pick up something from the trunk.

It really hurts

How do you guys close the trunk?? Push it or Pull it??

There is a grip inside the trunk, I alwasy PULL to cloase the trunk. I don't want to close with my hand touching the paint on the trunk, and leave finger prints on it. It takes few times to know how much force to pull, so you won't close too hard to too light.
When the car is clean I use the license plate to close it. If it is dirty I tend to use the handle inside, which works well. I tend to forget its there unless the car is dirty. And, I have not used the trunk that much. I never touch the paint because of finger prints.

I can easily take someone out if they are close enough to the rear of my car. I just wait until their chin is just above the trunk lid and then RELEASE - out they go like a light!

Well, I got my car back from the dealer and there is *definitely* a difference with my E60's trunk lid closing tension.

Glad to have my car back.

Having had the loaner with the tougher trunk lid for a couple of days I can now use THAT as the excuse as to why my right arm is bigger than my left arm!
