Tire choice for 2009 535xi with sport wheels

Depending on your driving habits, the sport all seasons should be fine.
In my e46, I had Pirelli PZero Nero (M&S). The tread pattern is sporty but the rubber compound becomes soft enough in the winter. I thought they were acceptable for highway driving and main arterial streets when it was snowing.
I just purchased a set of wheels and snows for the winter. However, I was thinking of ditching the run flats on my car and going the sport all season route considering I don't even drive to work and if there is heavy snow, I just stay home.
However, the RFT's are brand new so I decided to get a dedicated winter setup.

If it snows bad - you're right - I'm staying home.
I really cannot justify a dedicated winter setup (I have it on my RWD 530i and i have to admit I'm really bad about swapping it out)
But if I'm let's say - driving to NY (I live in Boston) and it starts snowing mid way
I should be ok with the sports all seasons... The current tires are Goodyear Eagle RSA - which I assume will be fine on the Xi for the occasional winter driving. When those wear out - I'll get the Bridgestones which seem to have better reviews...

You might want to look at the Bridgestone Turanza with Serenity. I just ordered a set for my 530xi. They get great reviews on Tire Rack as well as some other places I looked. I have a set of Nokina snow's on a second set of wheels that I run in the Winter but I like to have a nice touring tire for the late fall and early spring. I live in upstate NY so I know the weather you guys get in Boston.

I do live in the city and I take the train to work if the snow is bad - (and leave the bimmer in the garage...)
I'll have to look at the Bridgestone Serenity - it seems like the RE960AS may have slightly better reviews when it comes to snow traction??
I have some time as the car is still on the assembly line in Munich....

I would get the stock 17's they are not RTF and ride and handle better, they are also fine in the snow.
