Default starter issues help!!

So my car wouldnt start yesterday. I tried jumping it off and when that didnt work I got my battery charged to %100 and it still didnt crank. so ib came to the conclusion that its my starter. ive read a few threads stating that if you tap on the starter motor itll crank up. can anyone validate this theory?

why not? if you think it's bad, it isn't going to break it. lol
Why don't you turn the key over and put a multi-meter on it to see if it's getting juice. That will tell you right there.

Its the starter. Change it and be done with it.

yes you can do that. as you are turning the key, have someone underneath the hood with a skinny long stick and tap the starter at the same time. if it cranks and starts, confirmation it is the starter that has to be replaced. we just replaced one on a 530 that had about 82k miles.
