TROUBLE!
My driver's side started squeaking again despite adding teflon tapes, and it was done by the dealer quite some time ago... did anyone who've had teflon had further trouble after?
If yes or not, any suggestion? I'm thinking, maybe take it back for re-teflon taping?
It kind of sucks how a fantastic car like this needs taping! So class-less!

The application of clear tape to eliminate door squeaks due to door seals was an actual repair from BMW. It became a commonly used repair on the earlier E39's. Eventually they came out with an updated door seal and that became the new fix. The door seals are very easy to replace. You just need some basic handtools and some patience. Petroleum jelly is going to attract dust and dirt and everytime you close your doors, it is going to grind the grit into the paint.
GOOD DAY ALL
ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO I NOTICED AN OCCASIONAL SQUEAK ON A BUMPY ROAD. NOW IT SOUNDS LIKE MY 545 IS FULL OF MICE EVEN ON FAIRLY SMOOTH ROAD SURFACE. CAR AT THE DEALER NOW......SAYS IT IS THE DOOR SEALS AND A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM BUT MY SQUEAKS ARE EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD. SAYS HE WILL SPRAY SEALS WITH SOMETHING FROM
BMW THAT USUALLY FIXES THIS BUT ADMITS IT MAY NOT QUIET MINE. 900.00 TO REPLACE ALL SEALS. CAR HAS 54K ON IT AND TECH. SAYS BMW WILL NOT AID IN REPLACEMENT COSTS SINCE PAST 50 K COVERAGE.BODY FLEX AND SEALS ...
ANY SUGGESTIONS? OTHER THAN SELL CAR.......... LOVE MY E60. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE??
THANKS ALL

there is a cheap and easy way to fix this
Get a bottle of Vaseline and a old toothbrush and brush it on the door seal and the top of each door were there is a velvet.
this will 100% work
this will last about a year or so.
If it comes back after a year them 20min of brushing and fixed again
I had a topic on this 3 years ago some were
have the same problem,
been looking for the vaseline for a while and no luck..
try a nivea lotion but it doesn't work..
then oneday i bought a quick wax spray from mcguiars, and i wipe all surface that have paint on, including the inner side of the door (not the rubber seal)
and somehow the squeeky sound is gone.. i guess it's because the greasy feel after you wax the car..
but i guess the fenomenal and cheap method is the vaseline..
