Can a dealer net tell from the cars registration plate? Thay can over here.
I just give the reg to the sales agent and he can tell me the exact spec, when, where and who sold the car.

Another bit of info to add: my paperwork lists the model: 545ia, the body: 545ia 4d. Maybe someone knows what the "4d" stands for.
I think we are being "had". This buyer does not know what "a" or "4d" stands for? Strikes me as too naive to be buying this type of vehicle. Could be a lame game with the ole forum if you ask me!

I doubt you can miss Active Steering and Dynamic Drive. When you turn the steering wheel you should feel the Active Steering and when going straight, you'll also feel the car is not leaning sideways because of Dynamic Drive. I don't think you can miss them.

Also, is dynamic drive another name for active roll stabilization?

Well you can order that on an SE car aswell ... I am not sure if there is anything cosmetic that can tell you if the car was built from the factory and "registered" as an SE or Sport. I mean, my SE car, could I buy the parts for Dynamic Drive / ARS and add them? Just like the window trim, whees and sports seats, if that is the case, you can't use it to tell. If I bought an SE and then added _every_ single sport pack item, it still wouldn't technically make my car the sport model - just the standard edition with lots of modifications. Likewise, if I bought an M-Sport and then proceeded to fit a standard body kit, smaller wheels, and swap the seats from sport to standard ... it's still a 5 series sport version, just again with (rather stupid) mods!

SE is not available in the US. We get very limited packages here, and in 2004 if you order a sport, it comes with shadowline, 18" wheels, sport seats, Active Steering, Active Roll Stabilization, sport suspension.
