Last entry for now. I stopped by the dealership today for a final test drive to check the rattles and the iDrive. Sales guy sent me off with one of the porters - "take your time, check it out as much as you want". There are no problems with the car. It's perfect. Got back to the dealership to find a distressed sales guy. Some other salesman sold the car.

I was ready. I wanted that car. I'm bitterly, bitterly disappointed.

Thanks again for all your help. I'll keep looking for that perfect 5 series that I can afford. See you all again soon.

Sorry to see that happened. Keep looking. You never know what you'll find. I went to dealership to look at colour combos and found on the showroom exactly what I wanted. Surprise!!

I'm back. I found the car I wanted and took delivery about a week ago. Dealer has been great. I'm delighted.

The fact that this forum exists and is so well supported by the community actually made a difference in my decision to get a beemer. Many thanks.

I love the colour.

I had similar thing happen to my E60 once, and it went away. But my E60 is brand new. Shoould I bring it back to the dealer??
