Don't forget to add Helium to your tires while you are at it....it reduces the unsprung weight!!

coolhand, I hope you aren't taking any of these crazy posts personally -- I realize you're relatively new here so you may not realize that (as far as I can tell) those that are poking fun at the "saving weight" concept are just trying to inject some light-hearted humor into this thread...

The majority of our members here, including the ones that are just having some fun, always show a tremendous amount of respect for others, etc. so again, please don't take any of this personally.

I'd think you would drop more weight with No RFT's , and removing the Spare and tools...
Of course why would you worry about weight if you bought a E60 or E63 Any how... You know they are porkers going in to the dealer , hell just about every GERMAN car needs some slim fast , short of a GT3/RS and the M3 csl... Look at how much weight the black series MB's shed and they still weigh a Ton ( or 2 lol)

I could understand dropping the un-sprung weight ( wheel tires breaks ) for handling and breaking but floor carpets ?
I lost mine but replaced mine with the Weather tech mats... so more weight...

Could take off the doors, all glass, and all panels on the car -- stripped to the chassis + engine. Should be able to cut the weight way down.

Oh I did that. I also don't wear underwear, socks or put on deodorant when I drive. It's also why I shaved my head (and other more private areas, as well). Saves LOTS of weight.
The deodorant is the clincher...

So how many of you decided to get rid of the floor mats..?
.. just to lose weight of the car and get more lighter..?

It's not a must equipment and the floor looks just as nice without it..

and on the cleaning issue, people use vacuum machines so it's not a problem..

I figure it could become unneccessary weight to some people, along with other things, if you are dieting the car/
Believe me youre better off leaving the owners manual out of the car then floor mats in Colorado!!! As a matter of fact I just bought the all-weather floor mats as the are a MUST have item here!

Hmmm....I wonder if I can count that as a mod???
