Rudy,

I read on another forum that in excess of 4200 BMW's were damaged by a recent hail storm in Germany. Some ED cars were being replaced by BMW due to the damage they incurred. Timing of the storm appears to overlap with your car's production, storm was on the 15th of June. A bit of additional info here :

I doubt that my damage is from hail since it only appears along the one hood crease. If it were hail damage, there would be dings randomly across the hood, roof, etc., right?

Also, from reading that thread, it seems as if maybe the hail storm affected ED cars only? Either way, I don't think that's what happened to me...

Nice e60 Rudy.... the only problem i can see is the steering wheel is on the wrong side

Even the bumper reflectors look ok on the Alpine White.
