Rudy, congrats. Looks like you got the Iceman version "99% of the options offered". Now with the delivery of the new ride, shouldn't it coincide with a new avatar?!?!

I know, I know... that car was my inspiration. However, I prefer the 172s on his car. The big polished rims are too much for me. My car, which is arriving at the end of the month, will essentially look like his only with an all black interior and a V8 under the hood.

Rudy...Wow $83080!!!! I just went back to read some of the middle pages of this thread and saw your MSRP sticker...Wow, given we're 2 model years later, I don't think our cars are even in the same league. Your a few ticks away from M5 territory and now I feel like I got a stripped down version since my sticker was only $66790 Congrats again and again and again!!!!!!

Rudy,

Over the years I've owned 5 BMW's, all but two were white. I'd gotten a bit tired of white, but I have to say the pictures of your car are making me re-think the colors on my short list.

I've been posting here and there about my indecision between a 2008 535xi and a 2008 550 M Sport. I've driven both and find things to love in both cars. I'm leaning towards the 550, even though where I live we see 5 months of snow on the roads, where awd would be a major asset. Driving the 550 though; reminds me of my last BMW (a 1999 540iA), but it feels like so much more car.

My back to back test drives of the 535xi and 550, seemed to show a lighter feeling 535 with less body roll. Other posters have pointed out that the 550 doesn't have any body roll. I now understand they are saying this because US cars have ARS as standard with the M Sport. In Canada we have to order Dynamic Drive (DD) and it comes standard with Acive Steering (AS). I haven't been able to drive an E60 with AS or DD, so I would be very interested in your review of both options, particularly the steering feel of the car with AS compared to one without AS. I'm most concerned about steering feel "on center". Does it feel precise. Does the car track well? No pressure, but if your review is positive on the AS, I think I'll get the 550 M Sport and just spin my wheels in the winter (while waiting for summer). It's all in your hands.

PS In the mean time, I'll be test driving a 2007 750 with DD and AS, to see what I think of the systems in that car (the next best thing in the absence of an E60 with the same options).

PPS If it makes you feel any better, the same car in Canada is $92,000 msrp, not including frieght/pdi of $2,000 and our dollars are only 5% apart now.

And where I live (in the Netherlands) your car would cost EUR 116,252 with the current dollar rate that is a whopping USD 151,227 !!
So Rudy you basically got a bargain

I like where he photoshopped the car onto the road. It's better than the ones they put into the BMW brochures.
