I'm not due for an oil change (I don't think) but I'm taking the car in soon. I wonder if I should even mention this issue? If I read it correctly, it doesn't seem to instruct the techs to do anything to cars that aren't already getting an oil change, right?

 

Right. I will be going in for my normal oil change when it come up, but not before unless the problem appears to be widespread. A recall, or inspection, is not yet being called for. On the other hand, if there is a widespread problem, can we trust BMW to deal with us forthrightly? It is possible that all the cars mentioned should be inspected immediately, but, of course, I don't really know.

 

2003 745 li the top of my check valve seperated from the bottom half was just pressed on stupid all my oil blew right out

 

not true i lost all my oil in 30 seconds the top of the return check valve us only pressed onto the valve mine blew out and the oil noe i gotta get the bottom pc out
