[quote name='Rudy' date='Apr 14 2005, 06:41 AM']I think the old tires said the same thing.? "Dunlop SP Sport 01 * DSST" is on both the old and the new tires.? I there is an updated design, it may be identifiable through some of the codes printed down by the rim, I imagine...

The 93 is the load index (1443 pounds/650 kilograms) and the Y is the speed rating 186mph/300kph).

The 95W translates to a load index of 1521 pounds/690 kilograms and a speed rating of 168mph/270kph.

My new fronts have a 93W and my new rears have a 95W (both tires have a W speed rating.)

Here's a link to the Tire Rack's explanation of the load index and speed ratings:

I have 93Y front and 95Y rear. Both were replaced with the split wheel incident late in '04. The ratings are the same for both sides, but two were over nighted from Cleveland to Pensacola and the other two came off the dealer's new demo 545.
