Oh man... I spent 2 days researching and trying it and finally got it to work! I still cant program the third button to control the garage door light like on my other regular remotes but its ok. I dont remember exactlly how i did it but searching the Genie website was the key. I think somone posted it on top.

Wow - this forum is fantastic. I've had my 545i now for about a month and absolutely love the car. Up until today though, the *only* thing I couldn't figure out was how to program the garage door opener.
I didn't know I had to do it through the programming button on the garage door motor itself (press the program button and you have 30 seconds to press the button in the car, etc...).
Thanks! You guys are the best!

I was fortunate enough to have an SA that had all the little nuances of the car down pat. He actually told me to bring all my gadgets with me (openers, MP3 player, phone, CDs, etc). Before I left everything was working except one opener which he did the preliminary step and told me to get my motor control instructions out to finish the job. Had them handy as I had to do this for another car (Audi) a couple of years back. Worked like a charm. He still calls just to be sure I don't have any questions. I do like to use the manual where I can but as most of us know there certainly are some areas of this doc that could be improved.
