Does anyone have the Omega OLRSBM1? Bavauto sells it for $700, I've found it cheaper. Do you like it, etc.

 

I haven't heard of anyone getting remote start on an E60. Probably has something to do with the fact that the car will need to sense the key in the ignition, or in the car itself if you have comfort access. That means you would have to trick the car into thinking the key is always there. Which leads to your car being easily stolen. From what I have heard about cars with CA, the car wont go to sleep if it sense the key nearby either.

I could be wrong but on this that's what I have read on the subject and just passing it on.

 

yea i know. i dont have comfort access sadly. this thing though somehow makes it all work. even with the factory FOB.

 

Just read up on it on their page. Its seems interesting and appears to offer a safe remote start solution for our cars. I would love remote start on mine for the cold winter mornings but with heated seats and steering wheel and owners manual recommending no warm up just get in and drive, I will pass, plus for about $700 that seems like a lot, personally, for remote start.
