IS there an easy way to do this that does not involve the dealership and maybe just a quick trip to autozone?

I had the same thing with one of the rings not illuminating in the rear console. Mine was fixed while the car was in for service at the dealer. When I asked them whether it was just a burnt out bulb, they said yes. But I think that bulb isn't readily accessible when you remove the rear console panel. I remember them saying something about fiber optic cable connected to the bulb which is located deeper inside.

fixed it!!!!
My car is going in to have a bulb replaced next week under warranty. I had asked if it was something I can do myself since it was just a lightbulb change and the service guy said it involved taking the back of the console apart and better they do it while the car is under warranty than to let me potentially mess it up.
It's only supposed to take less than 1/2 hour so I can't help to think it's that hard to do.
Thanks.
