My Ride: 2008 550i Sport (6-speed)
My 550 is an '08 model, the inner angel eye as you put it, doesn't light up on mine UNLESS you put the car in reverse while the headlights are on. One side or the other will light up when the steering is turned a certain angel. It'll also light up when I signal right or left - signal right and the right inner angela eye will light up and so on. This occurs only after a certain speed. The light will slowly dim out when you come to a stop. The inner angel eye serves as a corner light and will not flash when you pull the highbeam stalk to pass. Hope this helps...

hi
Yes this was answered before-
The inner lights are your "turning lights". They go on when you turn the steering.
Try it. Turn the wheel at night or in fornt of a window and watch them go on.
I asked my SA and some of their mechanics when I first got my car and they didn't have a clue.

^Correct....headlight switch/control must be in position 3(1 click/turn to the left) to first to turn on the active headlight feature...then you will notice this feature (page 109 of the manual)...this feature AFAIK is for LCI models only...pre-lci models this lamp is the DRL lamp....
