Anyone know if there's much difference between the standard versus the premium sound system?
How do I know? I had a 535xi as a loaner a few weeks back which had the base stereo. I tried setting it up the same way I had my old 530xi's set (which I thought was a tolerable system). Well, I was surprised by how horrible the LCI standard audio system sounded compared to my old one. I couldn't get it right no matter what. The base was real distorted compared to my old car.
Maybe you'll get lucky and find out the Jet Black one does indeed have premium audio. I find it hard to believe they'd build one with SAT and iPod/USB adapter without it. Good luck in your decision, but that radio could be a deal-breaker!

Having had a 2007 530xi with standard audio and now an M5 with Enhanced Premium Sound, there is HUGE difference, but what I see an as issue is the fact that I believe the LCI base stereo is not as good as the older one I had.

I am ordering/buying a 535 today. I have narrowed it down to two options. Help me decide!
Option One: A fresh off the truck Jet Black on beige 535 with prem, sport, sport auto, comfort access, heated seats, sat radio, ipod adapt. Doesn't have premium sound or fold-down rear seats, which I wish it had. Post June 1 price increase.
Option Two: A 535 that can be dealer transfered (has been on other dealer's lot 2 months) that is Black Sapphire Metallic on beige with prem, sport, sport auto, heated seats, premium sound, fold down rear seats, HD radio, ipod adapt. Pre-June 1 price increase.
Not sure which is the better color, or situation! please chime in!
Thanks!

Definitely Sapphire Black, I have just swapped my Sapphire Black 325i with 190,000 miles on the clock and even at 7 years old it shone after a good clean
. Before that I had a Jet Black 3 series which was no way as good after 90,000 miles.
Black/Beige contrast is a good choice on both...

Again, probably just me ......but I don't think the color issue is that big a deal......come on they are both black with a very little bit of difference between them. Either way you are buying a awesome ride that is going to be sweet (you did say they both had Sport pkg right!...that's the critical option in my book). It would just be a real same to see you pick up the ride and feel any sort of let-down over a minor color issue.....again they're both black.
that said, if you had two identical cars in front of you and one was BS and one was JB.....it sounds like BS is the right call on color, especially if you are one that hangs on to cars for a very long time.

So where is our update? What did you go with? White didn't you......that's usually what happens.
Anyway, good luck....love to hear how this turned out.
