I had a puncture about a half inch away, to the left, from your puncture. They deemed it unrepairable.

Anyone feel they were pulling one on me?

i am definitely not a professional but:
From the pictures you have a severe puncture, near the wall, and with most tread already gone. Seems they were pretty well gone before the puncture. Actually this would have been on your new tire!
LONG ago some non-performance/shade tree shops would have put a tube in it, however you have a car that begs to be pushed to high limits and it is not worth a repair. Any repair to this tire should limit the tire to <50mph - are you going to do that??

So if I have to replace I''l try and order from TireRack.com, but that'll take a couple of weeks.
1. Safety is priceless
2. I'm sure there are other ways to speed things up, at a cost.. If you worry about the bill, go back to point 1 above Otherwise go to point 3.
3. Happy Shopping
