As a result of a complaint I have with TMC messages (or lack of them) [see http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=38873], my dealer (BMW Den Haag) has booked me in for a Progman update. They have said that they now have Progman 25.1.1 but, having read the wealth of posts and topics on this forum about Progman, I see no reference at all to this version number. So, I have a couple of questions that you guys will undoubtely be able to help me with ...
(1) What is the most current Progman version available (in general / in Europe)?
(2) How long does it normally take to run an update? BMW Den Haag are claiming they need my car for 2 full days
(3) Is there any way I can see what version is currently on my car? I recall someone here had posted instructions on how to call it up in iDrive but I cannot for the life of me find the exact post in my last 2 hours or so of searching.
(4) Has anyone who has an iPod interface had v25 loaded and have there been any issues (or improvements, for that matter)?
(5) Once the dealer is done, how can I check that the software has in fact been updated?

(5) The iDrive display and professional navmap are different . You will see straight away.

I can search ipod while still listening to music - could not do that previously. Also slightly faster.

3. No you can't, there is no way of reliably determining your CIP version from the idrive. Despite what some have written here.
5, You can ask for a copy of the 'final report' which is printed out from the update/diagnostics software at the dealers. This should give the 'Target data Status' and enable you to ID the program version.

All we can say for sure is you have something between 25.00.00 and 25.01.00. Since BMW did not release SIB info on teh tweeners it is hard to say. Could be the rumored 25.00.01, or .02 or .03 or .04.

Didn't someone say that the "mapping" has now slipped a little and can no longer be used it "precisely" identify the version?

If I was out of warranty would BMW charge me a flat rate for the upgrade or per hour? My recent upgrade to v25 took about 2 days.. They wouldn't possibly charge me for 10+ hours of labor had my car been out of warranty would they?
