Please somebody tell me this is all a simple 6-hour-at-the-stealer operation they can take care of?

Thanks!! :'(
Although the phonebook uploads while the car is operational, changes or additions to the phonebook are not available until the car is shut down and the system "rebooted".

it's not the phonebook, it's the physical address book in the navigation ...

took it to the stealer this morning ... told me it might take up to 2 days depending on what it needs...will keep you posted!

I think many of them are software related. I'd say do a software upgrade but don't use CIP 20 obviously......

Hello all ...

Well... have had my 530i for a week now, and have begun to experience some problems...maybe somebody could shed some light on this? (i.e. maybe all I need is a software upgrade? something the stealer claimed they did but didn't?)

Here are a list of the problems I have encountered so far:

<1> Flat tire warning 3 times after reset, even though my tires were fine didn't lose pressure
<2> Window anti-trap malfunction
<3> Rough idle when engine warm (at traffic light you will see the RPM go up and down)
<4> Transmission slam when slowing down
<5> Car tramlines (no sport package ...stock 17" eagle RS-A rubber)
<6> Sunroof noise when closing from tilt mode ... sounds like something is broken?
<7> i-drive abnormally slow ...takes over 20 seconds to respond sometimes
<8> address book doesn't show the address I have added until I have power-cycled the car

Please somebody tell me this is all a simple 6-hour-at-the-stealer operation they can take care of?

Thanks!! :'(
Sounds like more than "some problems". Most of the stuff is something we heard of but you have a list. CIP upgrade is needed, I think, and after you can count the remaining problems (if any).

Why not CIP 20?? I had a SW upgrade last week to 20.01 and everything is just fine.
cheers

well...1 week into MY ownership...haha ... it has 3,000 miles on it already... somebody traded it in at my local stealer... the wife didn't like it...it hasn't been hit, nor painted, nor was it a buyback (I'm close with the CPO manager, so I can see all the info) ... it doesn't have any open campaigns, nor has it been at the dealer for any problems....

The transmission slam will not go away even after software updates. BMW claim these are normal operating characteristics. Tramlines are due to the run flats.
My friends moms E46 325 had a nasty trans slam, the reprogrammed it and it's gone now.
