I have a 545i built in March 04.

I have a problem with Nav Pro.

I would like to be driven to Paris from Neuch?tel (Switzerland). There is about 500 km but the Nav Pro chooses a track with 750 km!!

Is this a known problem?

Have you tried specifying a specific town through which you want to travel, this might direct Nav Pro to the shorter route.

Unfortunately, with Nav Pro, you cannot choose an "itineraire via..".

And I have tried with every preference (with or without highway, shorter or faster road...) and the result is still the same...

The route is totally wrong. For the people who knows Switzerland, to go to Paris from Neuch?tel, the Navigation chooses a road that passes by... Zurich!!!!!!

Maybe an error on the disc? Or is the 750km route considered faster/consisting of better roads....?

No, it is a totally wrong route.

It is as if to go from New-York to Miami, the Nav pro chooses a route passing by... Boston!

I have seen the same thing with other electronic directions (Yahoo directions, MapQuest, Navigation systems, etc).

I usually just choose a city that I know it will choose a correct route (like something 1/2 way from my real desitnation city) and then re-program again from there. Basically, make the system take you along the route you want.

This does happen though. CPUs just don't have human logic.
