Are you sure you got prewiring for the professional navs? My understanding is that this takes a larger screen and the you may be getting the "business" version of the navs. Did you get something in writing from your dealer?

Yes, it was option 6UA (i think) and costed ?25.
To get the pre wiring you have to buy the NAV business. In March, when the prof NAV becomes available they replace the screen and ad a second button to the iDrive.
I then have to pay for the price difference beetwen NAV business and PRO.

Hi Portugal. I have postponed my order of a new 530 d untill I can order Navi Prof AND Bluetooth. Does anyone know exactly WHAT You get when you order the 640 Option (Preparation for GSM Telephone). Does it connect to I-drive ? Greetings from cold Sweden

 

Yes, the professional auto-telephone connects to Idrive. The telephone has more power than a conventional cellular, instead of 2watts it uses 8watts - giving increased net coverage. The phone can be used out of the car up to 10 meters, this wirelless capability uses bluetooth.

 

We had the preparation for a Bluetooth-enabled cellphone, and had the Siemens S55 installed later on (I could provide pics if anyone's interested).

It fully interacts with the iDrive display, however, it isn't possible to send or receive SMS messages, nor enter the PIN-code through iDrive.

The system seems to be working very well. Though, the snap-in adapter is looking slightly different from that in the catalog, however not significantly, and the superior design is maintained.
