Lol!
Drive home was awesome - got onto the motorway slip road, kickdown, eyeballs fall out back of head, oooh crap doing 100 The power this thing has is just mindblowing, going to take some getting used to as in my old car I'm normally giving full throttle to accelerate.
I'll get some pics up later today I hope, once it's had the obligatory polish!

My first question would be: I'm a tech savvy person. What equipment do you need to get the same level of software control as the dealership? How much does it cost?

It's not been a great weekend for the new car unfortunately
First, someone keyed it last night. It could've been on my road, or I was at a friends house and it might have happened there. About 6 inches long and down to the metal.
Second, I picked up a puncture on my way home today. Didn't see anything on the road, was cruising along the motorway at 75 and the tyre warning flashed up. So pulled over at the next services and yup, my front right was totally empty of air!
There's a damn big hole in it right on the sidewall on the inside. Whatever I ran over it sure has taken a chunk out.
So, first weekend with the new car and I'm buying a run-flat and paying for a repair guy to come out and fix the scratch.
Anyway, on the plus side, so far on my first tank I've averaged 26.5 MPG (was getting 19 around town, and 30 on the motorway) which is only slightly less than my 2.0 Z3 which is quite amazing!
Anyway - pics!

My Ride: 545i SE - silver grey, sports suspension, 124's, nav and other stuff!
Bad luck Ben
Great car though! I have a 545i SE as well, a year older than yours. Your story reminded me of the first day I had my car. Puncture alert as well but I couldn't see anything on close inspection. That's turned out to be a random event and my tyres lose pressure slowly si if you have run flats I can recommend getting a good pressure gauge. Most garages are crap.
Just spend the weekend in Wales. It's a 440 mile round trip for us but averaged 31.7mpg.

Yeah I don't know why people do that - I don't have anger about these things any more, I'm over it.
Just don't understand why anyone would do, that's all.
Obviously if I caught someone in the act I might be able to find the anger again and bring it back to the surface!
And punctures happen. No point getting in a fuss about it!
