There must be some major differences ( maybe quality control problem ) between cars. Mines an 04 with 95 k miles and the interiors like new, looks like its good for another 95k !

It took damage to the car my wife used to have (a 328iSE) before we discovered what it was.
I have a big plastic bin at home that has a permanent handprint on it from when one of my boys was 2 years old so as a result I make a conscious effort not let any of my family touch my car if they have put handcream on!
You have been warned!
