There must be some major differences ( maybe quality control problem ) between cars. Mines an 04 with 95 k miles and the interiors like new, looks like its good for another 95k !

I had this also.
In order to get them to replace it they have to say specifically that the pieces are "delaminating" andit is taken as a manufacturer defect

my 05 BMW which has 34,000 miles that I bought CPO'd in March has had to have the following plastic pieces replaced under warranty due to peeling:
It is caused by hand cream and it doesn't just affect interiors.

If you want permanent finger prints on your exterior paintwork give you children a tube of handcream to play with!

It took damage to the car my wife used to have (a 328iSE) before we discovered what it was.

I have a big plastic bin at home that has a permanent handprint on it from when one of my boys was 2 years old so as a result I make a conscious effort not let any of my family touch my car if they have put handcream on!

You have been warned!

Regards,

IT IS NOT caused by handcream. I do not use handcream. It is not caused by children-I have none.
It is not caused by Jewelry or long finger nails. I have neither.
