Oil change every 7,000 miles overkill?

Some cars i.e. 2006+ 530i have no dipstick. No way to suck it out!

They sure do, if my E60 used a non-syn motor oil, I would have it changed every 3K miles.

You are 100% right. The cars like mine and others still do have the dip stick and you can use the oil extractor to remove the oil. I believe all of the 550 have the dip stick as well.

And we derive the service interval for synthetic oils by applying a personal factor to the number of miles the manufacturer thought of?

And we derive the personal factor by....
