Okay, so it's clear that I'm way behind in terms of reading the post about what's going on with the facelift, etc. so I have to ask...
Is the pic Raighne posted showing the "sports automatic transmission" possibly a pic of the SMG car instead?

I also wonder why they didn't extend the new wood trim on the door up to the wood on the dash so that it flows across like the E39 used to.
Although the look isn't too bad, I can't stop "seeing" the bulky plastic between the door wood and the dash wood...

Yes...
ergo issues with the old E60...
- the window controls etc. are in very unergonomic locations on both doors (the most disturbing ergo issue)
I don't know statistically what the majority of users are saying, but for me and my partners are as perfect as it gets.
- the grab handles feel flimsy with some sharp edges and are not really curved to the shape of the hand
Are you sure we're talking about E60 here?!?
- the wood on the door grab handle is likely to get scratched
Sorry but this is not ergonomics. And by the way, I don't have wood on door panels.
- the door pockets are way too small/short
Maybe so, but then, the ones on E90 are much worse, so why changing them into something worse?
All of these shortcoming seem to have been addressed in the facelift.
We'll never agree on the aesthetics so let's not even get into that.
I think I said the same above, isn't it?

Tha car has been struggling with ugly plastics/wood issues from the begining onwards. With all their upgrades they are just trying to make both ends meet. I hope they will fire their interior designer and for the next 5-series we will get our beloved driver's oriented cockpit and deserving BMW style without clashing issues. ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

This E39 M5 interior pic was top of the line and is very, very nice
I must say that the Bamboo interior trim just might be too much for me.
Need to see it "live".
Otherwise the interior on the facelift looks better, but once again, need to see it live.
I just hope they have got rid of the plastic feel around the AC.
