When I turned the hazard on the turn signals blinked red. I don't know if the actual left or right turn signal was orange as those didn't work without the key. Maybe there's two sets of LED's in the new rear lights or maybe that was juse some fluke in the auto show car. It sparked my curiousity though... I know some members here have received an LCI already, can anyone check this out?
Was this the 535i or the 550i?

I took a lot of pictures in the 550i when I had the key - pity you weren't there when I was there. I didn't think of the turn signals. I hope they are not red.

All of the 2008 5ers were pre production production models by the way so there might be discrepancies between what was at the show and what is in production. One thing: there were no 6FL options in any of them because these cars were pre-March production.

Well I guess everyone that went to the show was just knocked out by the cars visually.
After that I would also wonder about why the turn signals would NOT be amber!
But what about the sneakers?
Did anyone happen to look at the NON_RUNFLAT tires that come with the sport pack on the 550i?
Who makes them---?
And what brand-model are they anyway?

Kinda curious.....

That has to be a US LCI, EU will allways have orange.

I can't understand why a manufactor like BMW is shipping red turn signals for the US market (ie. E39 Touring, and now the E60...), wouldn't it be more safe, efficient and better looking with orange for all markets?

If you look closely at the wheel picture you can make out "Continental" at the bottom of the tire. Most likley Continental Sport Contact 2's.

In addition to being of the 550i, the Foto is also of Rich Brekus of BMW NA.

With regard to the red turn signals, I recall a thread a while ago (when das changed his bulbs to LEDs) where it was mentioned that the E90 turn signals are red as well. Jonathan, can you verify this on your E90?

Here's the thread where we discussed all of this stuff -- I'm not a big fan of red turn indicators as you will see from the comments I posted about the changes das was making to his car. (I also seem to remember that he switched them over to amber later on so at least he's back to normal now... )

Ja, that is korrekt. The stock E90 turn signals blink red. My car blinks amber of course thanks to a change in rear lights.

First thing I noticed when I a test-drove MY07 was the door handle on my knee - annoying. So I for one get the non-symmetrical doors.

I agree, and for the same reason.

So it stands to reason that the LCI E60 has red turn signals as well (as stupid and illogical as that may be...)
