I was there, the 550 was carbon Black, the 535i Monaco Blue. They look similar but the 550 was darker.

Carbonblack looks like Orient Blue, is it the same color?

As already been pointed out, the BMW 550i is definately Carbonschwarz (in Germany, you can't even get Monaco Blue WITH the M-sports package). And the 535i is definately Monaco Blue, as TiefseeBlau (sugested by someone) looks a bit lighter.

For the interested, pictures of TiefseeBlau (Deep See Blue) can be found in my signature.

I was at the NY Auto Show yesterday with the BMW Preview Show and checked out the LCI rear tail lights. They're going to look awesome at night. I turned on the hazards and the rear turn signals were blinking red instead of orange like in the front. Hmm, any ideas on that?

Blinks RED??? I hate rear red blinking signals... those get easily confused with brake lights when they come on in the corner of someone's eyes...

When I turned the hazard on the turn signals blinked red. I don't know if the actual left or right turn signal was orange as those didn't work without the key. Maybe there's two sets of LED's in the new rear lights or maybe that was juse some fluke in the auto show car. It sparked my curiousity though... I know some members here have received an LCI already, can anyone check this out?

PS. The non-symmetrical driver and passenger door design is a huge mistake. They should have re-designed the passenger door to match the drivers door. What the hell were they thinking?

First thing I noticed when I a test-drove MY07 was the door handle on my knee - annoying. So I for one get the non-symmetrical doors.
