Today I had my first experience in my E61 with a malfunction like no sound from my stereo. I stopped the engine and started the car again, and suddenly the stereo was function. The same happened several times with my E46, which now is sold. What can this error be? I have not touched any mute button. Anyone out there who has experienced the same?

It could be your amplifier. I had experienced similar problem before as the stereo would work for a hour and then the sound would start cutting in and out or no sound at all. Dealer replaced the amp and everything is fine now. GL

Hi,
I have been struggling with the same problem for some time now with my 2005 E60. Do you find that other sound sources dont work at the same time like PDC sound / cd etc? I also seem to have this sound cutting out when the temperature rises to over 35C. One mechanic said it was my alternator but I have been driving for a year now so that cannot be the problem. Another pointed to a possible faulty bluetooth module Please post if you find a fix.
Thanks
