So if you are an IDIOT and back in to your fence. Is the hair dryer air duster trick safe for a bumper? Please help a brother out. I'm looking to try tonight while the dent is fresh. Thanks

That trick is for metal, our bumpers are plastic - so no won't work. What you can do is see if you can get behind the bumper with your hand and/or a hammer and lightly tap it out. That suck though, sorry man.

some PDR services also offer bumper repair as well....try and talk to your local BMW dealership and see who they use for PDR's and/or bumper repair...
I had a bumper repair guy come out for my e60 late last year, he used a hot air gun to heat the bumper, then used a special tool to get behind the bumper and push out the ding.....can't even tell it's been repaired

Now the real question is: How much money would we make if we could just hook Gene's mind up to a laptop and sell the DVD's?

If that is true, don't go that hard with you, I can feel with you
Do not use a hair dryer! You won't get a good result, the temperature is not hot enough.
Better use a hot air gun - but be careful! just a few seconds too much - you will get a even worser result!
Carefully get the temperature of the bumper higher, then bring it into the right position and hold on until the bumper is cold.
You have to think about it before you will do it (how to fix it, will I get a "sign" on the bumper etc.) Normally you only will get one chance, every next try will cause more damage!
Think about it, maybe it's better to sleep a night about it and bring it in for a "smart repair"

Thanks everyone, I just worked out the scratches last night and for the most part all that is laft are 4 dings. Bad news is they are in the edges. This may make it easier to repair or impossible, not sure. Either way I believe I am going to let a pro do it. Thanks again!!!!
