No NAV, should that be a deal breaker

Even though they may be more convenient to use, everybody I talk to hates the integrated GPS in their car. My good friend just bought a 2016 Lincoln SUV and I have experienced firsthand how frustrating it is to use.
I just returned from an 11-day trip to California and a combination of Google Maps and whatever app the iPhone has got us around LA and San Diego freeways with no problem.
GPS technology is getting better every day and, as someone said earlier, like most electronics it's out-of-date as soon as it's released. You're better off with hand-held devices that you can upgrade more frequently at less expense.

My Ride: 2007 BMW 550i
Jesus guys, its not about the navigation itself. Sorry but all these posts about navigation in BMW. Nobody uses car's navigation unless its a 2017 model thats for sure and its a given. It about what you get in a 2010 car with NAV and thats CIC which is miles better then the MASK system and the CCC system. It might not be essential on a pre-2010 car (for me it still is though) because CCC is similar to MASK but on a 2010 for anybody who buys a used e60 it will be the one thing he regrets if he doesn't get a car with CIC built in. Sure you can retrofit it, but really its not like having it come from the factory. Its going to need coding and programming and most of the time it isn't coming from an e60 so ull need emulators and a million other extra things and in the end you can even use ISTA/D on the car anymore with the unit installed... Please anybody whos going to buy an 2010 e60 get NAV. period.
