My Ride: E60 530i
New member intro (and some questions)
Hi all,
I've just joined the forum, after having owned a 2006 530i for a while now.
I have a few questions about the car (and E60's in general):
- How do I find out if any updates and/or retrofits have been done on the car?
- Can MP3 playback be enabled without having to resort to coding?
- Can lumbar support for the drivers seat be added or is it new seat time?

Yes just buy a Bluetooth to aux adapter and plug it into the aux port where the rear AC vents are. Problem solved.

You just have to figure out which features the car has (or doesn't have) - you can get INPA / ISTA on a laptop and drill down into the programming to see what's enabled or not.
You do have to code something to enable the aux input (unless you're lucky enough to have an aux port on the rear console, but I know my 2006 E61 530xi doesn't.
If your current seats don't have the proper lumbar support, it's time for new seats. I replaced mine with Sport seats - a HUGE improvement over the stock "fat guy seats" that were in the car originally. It was entirely plug-and-play, too. They're heavy, but certainly a relatively easy DIY, and not too spendy with the number of E60s that are being parted out.
