IMO the best way to accelerate quickly is to put the car in DS, turn off the DTC and just floor it.

I think he was making reference to "staging" before accelerating. from a stop, bringing the RPMs up to the point just before the rear tires break loose, then release the brake and floor it

I agree, it wouldn't be good for either the torque convertor or otherwise the brakes (or even a slipping clutch in your auto).
Just put it in DS, release the brakes and then floor it. If the traction control is holding you back (you'll notice when it's doing that): disable the DTC.

you will feel the DTC kick in, you will also see the "!" blink on your dash. just hold down the DTC button for 2+ seconds to deactivate, depending on the pavement and your tires, the 530 may not be powerful enough to merit disengaging DTC

DS is sort of a sport mode and is activated when you push the gear stick left from position "D". DS letters will appear on the instrumental panel.
But in my personal experience DS didn't help me in accelerating from 0 to 100 (sprint) since you keep pedal to the metal all the way to 100. On the other hand it doesn't let RPM fall down when you un-hold acceleration pedal during fast movement and is useful in out-manouvering other cars or obstacles without losing speed/momentum.

DTC disabled is not so much dangerous on the dry surface I think, but a bit fearsome on slippery surfaces so it can throw your car's back either left or right.

yeah, dtc on a dry surface wont do much for you. i did try to throw my car into a spin one night with the DTC on and it wouldnt, you'll feel the brakes doing their thing and auto-correcting the car. if you arent experienced with spirited driving, the dtc may also help you if you take a corner to quickly and push the car beyond its limits. when it is wet, i dont turn DTC off.
