Hey seanjordan20! You're not that far from where I'm at! I don't know where the relay for the AC system is located on the E60. Do you happen to know where it's located? Thanks

I have been able to command the AC Compressor on via INPA and the air is blowing very cold as a result. The moment I exit INPA however is when the AC stops blowing cold. I understand that the command on feature bypasses the sensor and the relay that are apart of the AC system. I'm wondering if a failed compressor would still produce ice cold air if it was truly failed? Also there doesn't appear to be a relay apart from the IHKA control unit that works with the DME to ground the circuit for the AC System.

These systems seem complex but are reply simple. I've had in the past 6 months 3 E60s in my driveway for a/c not working including my own and it was a compressor, leak and sensor. I've never had an issue with the IHKA being the issue.
What I want to make sure of with you is ensuring the aux fan is turning on at the command of the IHKA, you are actually getting power to the sensor plug when the a/c is turned on. Is the clutch actually engaging when the a/c is turned on via IHKA and if not how were you able to recharge the system.

Hi everyone!
Yesterday evening BMW service contacted me:
They told me that, after dismantled and checked all parts and cables, problem is the "ECU" of clima located behind the console. 1000 euro (about 1200 usd) to solve because needed coding. Now, I have coded other parts in the past (steering angle sensor and zsl module) and probably I can do it myself. Today I'll go to BMW and I speak with BMW's technical to understand if problem is SURE ECU of clima or is a suppose. I attached pictures of parts.

On eBay used part costs about 100usd or less...if problem is really ECU I could solve easily.
Dismantle central consolle is very easy and on YouTube there are a lot of video ( I do that about 5 or 6 times to install Bluetooth aux).
There is another way to understand ECU is dead: try to reset by software (ncsexpress was the software) and if program show you an error message an no reset probably ECU is dead!
One year ago my PDC was dead and after dismantled front and rear bumper, checked all 8 sensor and all the wires and cables, I tried to reset PDC ECU (via software)... Error! After that I replaced the PDC ECU and without coded all back to work normally!
This is my personal experience.

Yeah it's an easy fix if it is the IHKA. I would either go to a local junk yard or get it on eBay. I definitely wouldn't spend dealership $$$. First I would factory code my current one just to double check. I found one on eBay for $45 so that sounds like a viable solution just to check there diagnosis of it being the IHKA. Let us know what you choose to do.
